Description
Maison Joseph Drouhin, founded in Beaune in 1880, is one of Burgundy’s great family-owned wine houses. For four generations, the Drouhin family has crafted wines with the ambition of expressing the remarkable diversity of Burgundy’s terroirs with precision, elegance and authenticity.
With a portfolio spanning more than 90 appellations, Joseph Drouhin offers a genuine journey through the richness and diversity of Burgundy, from regional appellations to the most prestigious Premier and Grand Crus.
The Maison has been awarded the Grappe d’Or by Gault&Millau, a distinction that recognises the quality of its work and its position among the leading names in Burgundy.
The Chablis comes from Burgundy’s northernmost wine region, set within an ancient natural amphitheatre. In the 1960s, when the Chablis vineyards were in decline, Robert Drouhin recognised the exceptional potential of this terroir and was among the first Burgundy producers to contribute to its revival. The Kimmeridgian limestone soils, rich in tiny marine fossils, give Chardonnay the distinctive minerality and freshness for which Chablis is renowned.
