It is the first time that Cabernet Sauvignon (45%) has led the blend of this wine (which also includes Touriga Nacional and Merlot) because of the ripeness of the vintage, and it leaves its mark with appealing red berries and red pepper. The wine is aged for 24 to 30 months in 225L French barrels (30% new) and a further 6 years in bottle before release which has resulted in smooth tannins and a great mouthfeel without being overly powerful. With great acidity that keeps everything in check, it is an honest wine that offers great regional identity with sophistication.
