Description

Maison Joseph Drouhin, founded in Beaune in 1880, is one of Burgundy’s great family-owned wine houses. For four generations, the Drouhin family has crafted wines with the ambition of expressing the remarkable diversity of Burgundy’s terroirs with precision, elegance and authenticity. With a portfolio spanning more than 90 appellations, Joseph Drouhin offers a genuine journey through the richness and diversity of Burgundy, from regional appellations to the most prestigious Premier and Grand Crus

.

The Maison has been awarded the Grappe d’Or by Gault&Millau, a distinction that recognises the quality of its work and its position among the leading names in Burgundy.

At the heart of this prestigious vineyard, Joseph Drouhin owns several gently east-facing Premier Cru parcels: Noirots, Hauts-Doix, Borniques, Plantes and Combottes. Too small to be vinified separately, these parcels are harvested together to create a harmonious blend known as a “cuvée ronde”. Growing on complex limestone subsoils ideally suited to Pinot Noir, Chambolle-Musigny Premier Cru expresses all the finesse, depth and elegance for which the appellation is renowned.

Tasting

Appearance: Bright and vivid ruby-red colour, characteristic of fine Pinot Noir from the Côte de Nuits.

Nose: A refined and complex bouquet, with aromas of ripe red and black berries (cherry, blackberry), delicate floral notes such as violet, and hints of forest floor or fresh earth.

Palate: Silky attack, with fine, noble tannins and an elegant structure. Beautiful balance between freshness and velvety texture. The stone fruit flavours linger through to a harmonious and persistent finish, showing depth and finesse.

Food & Wine Pairing: A perfect match for herb-roasted poultry, veal fillet, mushroom risotto, delicate game dishes, or aged cheeses. Ideal with refined, elegant cuisine that respects the subtlety of the wine.
