Description
M. Chapoutier, founded in 1808 in Tain-l'Hermitage, is one of the Rhône Valley's most prestigious wine houses. Under Michel Chapoutier, the estate has become a global benchmark for biodynamic viticulture, producing wines that faithfully express the identity of each terroir through precision, balance and purity.
Bila-Haut Rouge comes from the steep hillsides of the upper Agly Valley in Roussillon. The vineyards are planted on schist, gneiss and clay-limestone soils, where altitude and Mediterranean winds ensure slow ripening and outstanding freshness. A blend of Syrah, Grenache Noir and Carignan, this wine beautifully combines the generosity of the South of France with elegance and finesse.
Tasting
Appearance: Deep garnet-red colour with violet highlights.
Nose: Expressive aromas of blackberry, blackcurrant, black cherry and violet, complemented by notes of garrigue herbs, black pepper, liquorice and sweet spices.
Palate: Rich and generous on the palate with remarkable freshness. Silky tannins provide excellent balance, leading to a long finish filled with ripe black fruit, spices and Mediterranean herbs.
Food Pairing: Perfect with grilled meats, rack of lamb, duck breast, Provençal beef stew, grilled vegetables, Mediterranean cuisine and mature cheeses.
