Alicante Bouschet - Bio 2022

Founded in 1716, Quinta do Vallado is one of the historic estates of the Douro Valley. Today, the estate combines its centuries-old heritage with precise, modern winemaking. The grapes for its Organic Alicante Bouschet come from Quinta do Orgal, its certified organic vineyard in the Douro Superior.

Quinta do Vallado Alicante Bouschet Organic is a single-varietal wine made from 100% Alicante Bouschet. Naturally rich in colour and structure, the variety produces an intensely concentrated wine balanced by remarkable freshness. Following malolactic fermentation, the wine is aged for approximately 16 months in 225-litre French oak barrels.

Appearance: Deep, opaque colour with intense violet reflections.

Nose: Highly concentrated and complex, dominated by ripe black fruits, particularly plum, with distinctive earthy nuances adding depth and character.

Palate: Full-bodied, generous and round with concentrated dark fruit flavours. Despite its richness, the wine retains excellent freshness, leading to a long and persistent finish.

Food Pairing: Excellent with grilled beef, roast lamb, game, braised meats, beef stew and mature cheeses.
