Description
Maison Joseph Drouhin, founded in Beaune in 1880, is one of Burgundy's great family-owned wine houses. For four generations, the Drouhin family has crafted wines with the ambition of expressing Burgundy's remarkable terroirs with precision, elegance and authenticity. With a portfolio spanning more than 90 appellations, Joseph Drouhin offers a remarkable journey through Burgundy, from regional appellations to the most prestigious Premier and Grand Crus.
The Maison has been awarded the Grappe d'Or by Gault&Millau, recognising the excellence of its wines and its place among Burgundy's leading producers.
The Vougeot Premier Cru Les Petits Vougeots is one of the finest Premier Cru vineyards of Vougeot, ideally located between two legendary terroirs: the famous Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru and Les Amoureuses in Chambolle-Musigny. The village of Vougeot owes its worldwide reputation to the Clos de Vougeot, cleared and enclosed by the monks of Cîteaux at the end of the 12th century, who later built the château that today houses the Confrérie des Chevaliers du Tastevin. The climat takes its name from the small spring known as the Petite Vouge or Vougeotte. Its deep, stony and perfectly drained soils produce a Pinot Noir combining aromatic finesse, depth and excellent ageing potential.
