Description
The oldest house in Porto
Even before the demarcation of the Douro region, Kopke already existed. Founded in 1638, the oldest Port house has built an impeccable reputation based on high quality principles. A leader in the production of Tawny Colheita Port, including whites, Kopke has an enviable portfolio of special category Ports and also produces top-of-the-range DOC Douro wines.
‘History and exclusivity are two of the words that best describe Kopke, a brand synonymous with prestige.’
Tasting
Appearance: bright straw-yellow with orange hues, reflecting its long ageing in oak casks — typical of white Colheita Ports.
Nose: rich and intense aromas of fresh tropical fruits, orange blossom and honeycomb, wrapped in subtle smoky notes from the wood ageing.
Palate: complex flavour profile with notes of molasses, mandarin, apricot and raisins, lifted by a spicy touch that gives structure to the long and balanced finish.
Food Pairing: perfect with almond, lemon and poppy seed desserts, milk chocolate with hazelnuts, or simply enjoyed on its own after a meal.
Serving Temperature: between 8 and 10 °C, to reveal all its freshness and aromatic complexity.
