Description
Donnafugata was established in Sicily by a family that, thanks to its passion, has been able to innovate the style and perception of Sicilian wine throughout the world.
Giacomo Rallo, the fourth generation of a family with over 170 years of experience in quality wine, founded Donnafugata in 1983 together with his wife Gabriella, a pioneer of viticulture in Sicily. Today, their children José and Antonio lead the company and a team of people focused on excellence.
Dolce&Gabbana drew inspiration from the color of the magma to make the capsule and the grosgrain ribbon of the box, while the graphics of the label and packaging refer to the traditional motifs and styles of the Sicilian cart. However, Etna remains the true protagonist at the center of the composition, immersed in a suggestive, almost fairytale landscape, which evokes the chivalrous tales of the storytellers and the theatrical scenes of the Opera dei Pupi. Gold was used on the logo printed on the bottleneck's collar and on the tissue paper that wraps the bottle, to celebrate the precious and sublime nature of Etna, as unique as Cuordilava.

Tasting
Appearance: Deep ruby colour with garnet highlights, bright and crystal clear, reflecting the volcanic energy of Mount Etna’s slopes.
Nose: Elegant and complex aromas of red fruits (cherry, raspberry), gentle spices (cinnamon, nutmeg) and forest floor. Hints of wild herbs and warm stone develop with aeration.
Palate: Broad and structured attack with silky, well-polished tannins. Perfect harmony between freshness, depth and intensity. A distinctive volcanic minerality leads into a long, refined and spicy finish.
Food Pairing: Excellent with grilled or roasted red meats, mushroom-based dishes, rich risottos or herb-roasted lamb.
Serving Temperature: Serve between 17 and 18 °C. Decant for 30 minutes before serving to unlock full aromatic complexity.
