Description
Gruaud Larose has always tried to give value to the role of man in the creation of its elixir.
both to his work and to the bond established with the vineyard.
The vine stocks and the grapes are nothing without man, without these makers of crus, from the most modest to the most powerful.
Since its creation, in 1725, four families have succeeded one another at the head of Gruaud Larose: the Gruaud and Larose families, the Balguerie and Sarget families, the Cordier family and the Merlaut family.
This family attachment has been passed on to the employees who often work at the chateau from father to son and from mother to daughter.
Tasting
Appearance : The robe is deep ruby, bright and dense. Purple highlights reflect its youth. The wine is clear, with good concentration.
Nose : The nose is intense and complex. First come ripe black fruits: blackcurrant, blackberry, cherry. Then appear spicy and woody notes: licorice, vanilla, blond tobacco. A floral touch and balsamic hint add depth.
Palate : The attack is fresh and precise. The palate is broad, with fine but firm tannins. The fruit is juicy, balanced by a lively tension. The finish is long, with spice and minerality.
Food Pairing : Perfect with game, grilled or roasted red meats, or aged cheeses. Also works well with rich and savoury dishes.
Serving Temperature : Serve between 17°C and 18°C. Decant for 1 to 2 hours.
