Description
Tiezzi, located in Montalcino, is a family estate deeply rooted in the region’s winemaking traditions. Its philosophy is based on careful vineyard management, controlled yields and traditional winemaking methods, including spontaneous fermentation and extended ageing in large oak casks. The wines aim above all to authentically express Sangiovese and the distinctive terroirs of Montalcino.
The Brunello di Montalcino DOCG Vigna Poggio Cerrino is a single-vineyard cru made exclusively from Sangiovese grown in the Poggio Cerrino vineyard, in the Canalicchio area northeast of Montalcino. Acquired in the mid-1980s as the estate’s first vineyard, Poggio Cerrino has been produced as a separate cru since the 2017 vintage. Its medium-textured soils are rich in limestone and rocky material, with areas of galestro and alberese. The vines average 52 years of age, producing a particularly vibrant, elegant and fresh Brunello with a distinctive personality.
