Brunello di Montalcino - Riserva Vigna Soccorso 2020

Tiezzi, located in Montalcino, is a family estate deeply rooted in the region’s winemaking traditions. Its philosophy is based on artisanal practices and traditional winemaking methods, including spontaneous fermentation and extended ageing in large Slavonian oak casks. The wines aim above all to authentically express Sangiovese and the identity of Montalcino’s great terroirs.

The Brunello di Montalcino DOCG Riserva Vigna Soccorso  represents the pinnacle of the estate’s production and is made only in the finest vintages. Produced exclusively from the Vigna Soccorso vineyard, this 100% Sangiovese cru comes from 21-year-old bush-trained vines. Its silty-sandy soils lie over a complex subsoil containing volcanic, magmatic and sedimentary rocks. Following a 30-day spontaneous fermentation, the wine is aged for 48 months in large Slavonian oak casks, followed by six months in bottle. Only 864 bottles were produced, making this Riserva an exceptionally rare and limited cuvée.

Appearance: Deep, brilliant ruby red, gradually developing elegant garnet nuances.

Nose: Intense and complex aromas of ripe cherry, sour cherry and red berries, complemented by violet, spices, Mediterranean herbs and delicate balsamic and earthy nuances.

Palate: Powerful and generous while retaining remarkable freshness. The fruit is juicy and precise, supported by vibrant tension and defined, agile tannins. Depth, energy and elegance come together in a long, persistent finish, with excellent potential for graceful ageing.

Food Pairing: Ideal with beef fillet, rack of lamb, game, braised wild boar, slow-cooked meats or mature Italian cheeses.
