Description
The name comes from "curtis" (the word for an estate in Gallo-Roman times) and Othon, the Emperor who owned this vineyard.
Since the wine travels well, it soon acquired great fame around the world.
Tasting
Appearance: Deep, intense ruby colour, dense and bright, characteristic of a Grand Cru Pinot Noir from the Côte de Beaune.
Nose: A powerful and expressive bouquet showing ripe red and black fruits, which with aeration can evolve toward candied fruit, spice and musky notes.
Palate: Structured and robust on entry, with a velvety texture that balances tannins and acidity. The palate echoes the candied fruit notes from the nose and offers a long, complex finish with great persistence.
Food & Wine Pairing: Excellent with rich, hearty dishes such as game in sauce, roast beef, herb‑crusted lamb, or with aged cheeses that hold up to its structure.
