Description
Domaine Chandon de Briailles, located in Savigny-lès-Beaune, is a historic estate in the Côte de Beaune. The domaine cultivates prestigious terroirs in Savigny-lès-Beaune, Pernand-Vergelesses and on the Corton hill, with an approach focused on allowing each individual parcel to express its natural character. Its wines are distinguished by their finesse, precision and ability to reveal the nuances of Burgundy’s great terroirs.
The Corton Grand Cru Les Maréchaudes comes from two parcels on the Corton hill: one covering 0.2742 hectares, planted in 1975, and the other 0.123 hectares, planted in 1980. Located directly below the Les Bressandes climat in the northernmost part of the hill, the vineyard features clay-rich, slightly silty soils over limestone bedrock. It produces one of the most supple and charming expressions of red Corton, combining depth, elegance and generosity.
