Maison Joseph Drouhin, founded in Beaune in 1880, is one of Burgundy's great family-owned wine houses. The Maison has been awarded the Grappe d'Or by Gault&Millau, recognising the excellence of its wines and its place among Burgundy's leading producers.

The Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru is undoubtedly Burgundy's most iconic vineyard. Covering 50 hectares between Vosne-Romanée and Chambolle-Musigny, it was cleared and enclosed by the monks of Cîteaux at the end of the 12th century. They also built the château that today serves as the headquarters of the prestigious Confrérie des Chevaliers du Tastevin. Around 80 owners now share this legendary vineyard, including Maison Joseph Drouhin, which owns two beautifully positioned east-facing parcels. The Clos is a remarkable geological mosaic of clay and limestone soils, producing a Pinot Noir of extraordinary depth where power, nobility and elegance come together in perfect balance.

Appearance: Deep, brilliant ruby-red colour.

Nose: Intense aromas of raspberry and wild cherry, gradually evolving towards forest floor, truffle and candied fruit.

Palate: A sublime structure supported by noble, refined tannins. Perfectly balanced with a silky texture and an exceptionally persistent finish, embodying Joseph Drouhin's vision of elegance.

Food Pairing: Excellent with beef fillet, roast pigeon, hare royale, dry-aged beef, venison, black truffle or mature Époisses cheese.
