Syrah - Tradition 2024

Founded in 1968 by Jacques Germanier, Cave du Tunnel – Germanier is located in Conthey, in the heart of Switzerland’s Valais region. Renowned for its winemaking expertise, the winery is particularly distinguished by its ageing facilities housed within a tunnel, providing favourable conditions for wine maturation. The estate showcases traditional and international grape varieties through authentic wines combining character, finesse and elegance.

Syrah Tradition by Cave du Tunnel is a red wine from the Valais AOC, made exclusively from Syrah, a grape variety originating from the Rhône Valley and particularly well suited to the dry, sunny climate of the Swiss Valais.

This wine expresses the distinctive character of Syrah through intense dark fruit aromas, peppery notes and delicate floral nuances. Traditional vinification and tank ageing preserve the purity of the fruit while developing a well-defined tannic structure. Powerful yet elegant, it is an excellent companion to richly flavoured dishes.

Appearance: Deep, dark red colour with violet highlights.

Nose: Intense aromas of blackberry, blackcurrant and dark fruits, complemented by black pepper, violet and a delicate smoky touch.

Palate: Powerful and generous, with a well-defined structure, firm tannins and persistent flavours of dark fruits and spices. The finish is long, harmonious and elegant.

Food Pairing: Grilled red meats, lamb chops, roasted game, slow-cooked dishes, smoked meats or mature mountain cheeses.
