Description
The Pian delle Vigne estate has belonged to the Antinori family since 1995, the year of the first vintage.
Located about 6 km southwest of the fortified town of Montalcino (Siena province, Tuscany), the estate covers roughly 184 ha, at an altitude around 130 m.
Pian delle Vigne expresses Antinori’s personal, refined interpretation of a traditional Brunello — blending appellation heritage and a winemaking philosophy centered on elegance and fruit purity.
Tasting
Appearance: Deep ruby red colour with garnet highlights. Clear, intense, and beautifully bright.
Nose: Complex and refined bouquet: aromas of black cherry, ripe plum and morello cherry, enhanced by balsamic notes, blood orange, cocoa, fine wood and violet.
Palate: Silky and balanced on the attack. The palate reveals a well-built structure, fine and smooth tannins, well-managed freshness and long aromatic persistence. Elegant finish with hints of sweet spices, licorice and black fruit preserves.
Food Pairing: Perfect with herb-crusted roast lamb, grilled rib of beef, hare stew, or aged cheeses such as Tuscan pecorino.
Serving Temperature: Serve between 18 and 20 °C, after decanting for about 1 hour.
