Description
Saint-Esprit Dark Rum is a historic rum launched in the 1860s by Bordeaux merchant André Teissèdre.
While the exact origin of the rum is unknown, it is established that it is a distillate from French overseas territories. This rum was produced until the 1980s, maintaining a certain quality image throughout the decades. It notably won a gold medal at the Bordeaux Universal Exhibition in 1895.
Tasting
Appearance: Dark mahogany color with copper highlights.
Nose: Aromas of dried fruits (raisins, prunes), burnt caramel, vanilla, dark tobacco, walnut, and roasted spices (cinnamon, nutmeg) .
Palate: Oily texture, notes of dried fruits, burnt oak, dark tobacco, and warm spices.
Food Pairing: Ideal as a digestif or in classic cocktails.
Serving Temperature: Serve between 18 and 20 °C.
