Description
Vinhas Velhas, which literally means “Old Vines,” has its origins at Quinta de São Luiz in the Douro. This estate, with its whitewashed walls—walls that support the vines, the stories, and the expertise of several generations. It is on a small portion of these terraces that the vines, over 50 years old, are planted—vines that give this Grande Reserva its name. The limited production of these grape varieties, combined with extended aging in oak barrels and the winemaker’s expertise, results in a complex, elegant wine with a velvety, enveloping structure. This is a numbered batch of 2,200 bottles.
Quinta de São Luiz, located in the Cima Corgo subregion of the Douro Valley in Portugal.
