Feudo Montoni

In 1469 AD in the heart of Sicily, in the Principality of Villanova, is built by the Aragonese noble family Abatellis the beam (of typically Sicilian construction in quadrilateral). Six hundred years later, in the same cellars, the same lands are produced our wines.

Already in 1595 Andrea Bacci, the agronomist and doctor of Pope Sixtus V, in the pages of "De Historia Natural Vinorum", the first treaty Italian wine, praised the wine tradition and the quality of wine produced on these lands.

The father of Elio, Fabio, in the second half of the sixties, selected the best plants in the succession (mass selection) with them planted new vineyards and modernized the cellar. Elio transmits to his son Fabio passion and respect for nature. Elio teaches Fabio the work ethic and sacrifice to achieve a goal. Work only if done with dedication and love becomes a "wonderful journey" to live.

Fabio, during the last thirty years, continues the work of his grandfather and father, guardian of old plants and their grapes. Fabio, including the important way in his work, knowing well the past to look to the future.

The invention of the tradition becomes the key of all its decision.

Fabio participates personally in all the different stages of the process of the vine in the cellar of production. Fabio's wines, "... are very special: they have the grace of great red not only with structural richness, usually ordinary thing, but for the richness of elegance, style and class ..".
